In making the announcement, company president and reel designer Steve Abel said, "I have always favored a silent reel and the sensational hiss and swish of a line slicing through the water. To me, there is nothing more exciting and satisfying. But numerous customers, guides and fly-fishing shops have requested an outgoing click, so we've precision engineered a new mechanism and are making it available." The nine sizes of big game large arbor Super Series reels for 2- to 20-weight lines may now be ordered either with or without the click-out feature. Abel's TR/Series of lighter reels continues to have a click mechanism. The outgoing click adds $20 to the price of each size Super Series reel.
